I really like this review, and I like the way you're elaborating on the things that speak most to you about the book. I hope you keep going.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cindy! And yes, I'll keep going.
ReplyDeleteHow many demo reels did you mail out this week to get your talk show? Why not make a call to your local community TV station today and see if they have any shows that are looking for a host? :-P
ReplyDeleteOh definitely! I felt like she was talking to me too with that statement. While I have my eye on my goal and am taking steps forward to reach it. I simultaneously take steps backward that will cause me NOT to achieve my goals. It's as if, the 'negative inner chatter' brings me back to the 'reality' that I cannot achieve the goal, so I kind of throw my hands in the air.
ReplyDeleteThe solution (and the struggle) is to do things to minimize that voice, celebrate your smallest victories as you move forward, keep focused on your why and keep moving towards your goal.
Stephanie - Mel is talking to alot of people if they'll face the music and listen. Thank you for sharing and offering solutions.

ReplyDeleteDonna, I'm curious. Do you think that bringing up this topic repeatedly is what keeps people locked in its grip?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely not, Kimyon. Denial and not getting to the root of the problem is what keeps folks in a rut.
